This policy is published by RELAYLANE LABS LTD (company number 17162321, registered at Lavender Cottage Hazelden Farm, Marden Road, Cranbrook, England, TN17 2LP), the developer of the app The Third Connection. It sets out our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) for the purposes of the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy and applicable law.
1. Our commitment
The Third Connection is a dating and social-events service for adults. We prohibit, and act against, any child sexual abuse and exploitation on or through our service. We have zero tolerance for content or conduct that sexualises, exploits or endangers children.
2. The service is strictly 18+
- The Third Connection is strictly for adults aged 18 or over. Under-18s may not create an account, attend our events, or use the service in any way.
- Every member must provide their date of birth when creating a profile.
- If we become aware that any account belongs to a person under 18, we remove that account on discovery and delete associated data, subject only to any preservation required for reporting to law enforcement or a designated reporting body.
- We keep our age-assurance approach under review in line with Ofcom guidance under the Online Safety Act 2023, including our children's access assessment.
3. Prohibited: child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)
We prohibit any content or behaviour on or through The Third Connection that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers children (any person under 18). This includes, without limitation:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor, in any form, including synthetic, AI-generated or computer-manipulated imagery.
- Sexualisation of minors — content that depicts, describes, encourages or promotes the sexual abuse or sexualisation of children, including apparent-adult imagery presented so as to depict a minor.
- Grooming — befriending or building trust with a child, online or in person, to facilitate sexual contact or exploitation, including requesting or arranging sexual contact, soliciting sexual imagery from a child, or attempting to move contact with a child to another service.
- Sextortion — threatening or blackmailing a child, or a person believed to be a child, using real or alleged access to intimate images of that child.
- Trafficking and commercial exploitation — advertising, soliciting or facilitating the sexual exploitation or trafficking of a child.
- Any attempt by an adult to use the service to contact, meet or communicate with a child for a sexual purpose.
This prohibition applies to profiles, photographs, messages, event behaviour and any other use of the service, and to attempts as well as completed conduct.
4. In-app reporting
The Third Connection provides an in-app reporting mechanism. Any member can report another member's profile, photos, messages or behaviour from within the app, without the reported member being notified by us of who reported them. Members can also block other members in-app. Reports are reviewed by our safety team under our moderation procedures.
Concerns can also be raised directly with our designated child-safety contact (section 6).
5. How we act on CSAE
Where we obtain actual knowledge of CSAE content or conduct on our service, we will:
- Remove or restrict the content and the offending account promptly;
- Preserve relevant content and account data securely, with access restricted to designated staff, for the period required by applicable reporting rules;
- Report apparent child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities, including the UK National Crime Agency (NCA) and/or the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as applicable, in line with our duties under section 66 of the Online Safety Act 2023;
- Where there is an immediate risk to a child, contact law enforcement without delay.
We do not warn the account concerned before preservation or reporting where doing so could prejudice an investigation.
6. Designated child-safety point of contact
Our designated child-safety contact, able to speak to our CSAE prevention practices and to receive notifications about this policy, is our designated child-safety team, reachable at:
This mailbox is monitored. We prioritise messages concerning child safety and review them promptly; urgent risks are escalated immediately.
7. Cooperation with law enforcement
We cooperate with law enforcement and relevant statutory bodies in the investigation of child sexual abuse and exploitation, including preserving and disclosing data in response to valid legal requests, in accordance with our law-enforcement request procedure and applicable data-protection law.
8. Legal compliance
We comply with applicable child-safety laws, including:
- the Online Safety Act 2023, including the duty under section 66 to report detected and unreported CSEA content to the NCA (in force since 7 April 2026);
- UK law prohibiting indecent images of children and sexual communication with a child (including the Protection of Children Act 1978, section 160 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988, and the Sexual Offences Act 2003);
- where applicable to us, US reporting obligations to NCMEC;
- Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and other applicable app-store policies.
9. Review
This policy is reviewed at least every 12 months, and whenever there is a material change to our service, to applicable law, or to app-store child-safety requirements.
